Intuit: The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art presents Almost There: A Portrait of Peter Anton running July 9 through December 30, 2010. The opening reception, free and open to the public, will be held at Intuit on Friday, July 9, from 5-8 pm, 756 N. Milwaukee Avenue.

Peter Anton, a 78 year-old resident of East Chicago, Indiana, creates paintings that illuminate moments of significance from his personal history. Many of them are based on photographs he has obsessively compiled into a massive autobiography titled “Almost There.”
Heather Holbus, Program Coordinator at Intuit stated, “The event was a great success. We had crowds all day and sold over $6,000. We’ll definitely be doing it again next year.”
