Minnie Evans Tribute – Airlie Gardens “Green Day”
Airlie Gardens – Wilmington, North Carolina – Celebrates a “Green Day” tribute to Minnie Evans!
“God has 600 some shades of green, and He dressed the world with them.”~Minnie Evans
The original “Green Lady,” Minnie Evans, is the focus of Airlie Gardens upcoming FREE day! As the gate keeper to the gardens for many years and one of the most prominent self-taught visionary artists known, she is rightfully being honored with this tribute. Come join in the celebration of Airlie Gardens “Green Day” on Saturday, March 13th, 2010 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. (rain date is Saturday, March 20) as they open their gates and welcome all to a day of family fun, artistic inspiration, and the beauty of the gardens themselves.
There will be live music and entertainment, an exhibition of Minnie Evans’ work from the collection of our Home of Folk Art’s very own Dr. Christian Daniel, a kid’s “Create Art” tent, artist demonstrations, and local self-taught artists exhibiting and selling their pieces. It will be a day of inspiration and family fun!
